Conclusion

This lens impresses as soon as you pick it up. It’s well made, covers just about all you need in one go and performs well. It does have faults - distortion is noticeable at most focal lengths and there is some colored fringing in the corners. However it does have AF-S - Nikon’s silent high speed focusing - and comes complete with a good lens hood - hooray!  It has a metal mount, takes 67mm filters, weighs 400g and doesn’t rotate while focusing or zooming.

This is the best all round APS-C kit lens I’ve used so far.

Highly recommended
